Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Aiming for Zero Deaths
October 4 2024Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) is observed every October to highlight the devastating impact of breast cancer on Australians. Every year, over 21,000 people—including around 200 men—are diagnosed, and more than 3,300 lose their lives to the disease. While advancements have raised the five-year survival rate from 76% to 92%, there is still work to be done to target the remaining 8% who don’t survive.
NBCF’s vision is to achieve Zero Deaths from breast cancer. They rely entirely on donations to fund research focused on prevention, detection, and treatment, ensuring that more lives are saved. By supporting NBCF, the Australian community can help advance life-saving breakthroughs, bringing us closer to a future free of breast cancer.
Your involvement this October—whether through donations, fundraising, or raising awareness—plays a critical role in driving NBCF’s mission forward. Together, we can stop breast cancer deaths and make a lasting impact on countless lives.
